Dr. Santosh Gupta is a Fertility Consultant at Nova IVF fertility, Koramangala in Bengaluru. She completed her MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from prestigious institute of SMS Medical College, Jaipur. She has more than 18 years of experience and is well versed with infertility procedures like IUI, IVF, Hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy.

Academically she was always a meritorious student and because of her passion in the field of infertility she did Post Doctororal Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bangalore. She has worked in a reputed organisation as a fertility consultant in Bangalore for 3 years and simultaneously took up teaching & training for DNB and fellowship students. She worked as a fertility consultant and head at another reputed organisation in Bengaluru.

She has been invited as faculty at various National Conferences like ISAR & ACE etc. She is the elected member of executive committee of KISAR and a life member of KISAR & ISAR. She has won several awards during her career for her research work. She has won Dr. Asha Rao award at ISAR 2013.

  Preliminary Assessments 
Patients who visit a Nova IVF centre for the first time may have to undergo a series of specialised fertility evaluations, such as blood tests, ultrasounds, and semen analysis. The diagnostic procedures allow the experts to evaluate the patients’ clinical conditions in depth. After a comprehensive evaluation of the laboratory results, the physicians formulate a personalised strategy to guide them along the path to parenthood, customising the treatment plan to meet their individual requirements.
  Semen Analysis 
The test is an evaluation of a man's sperm. Multiple iterations of sperm analysis tests are conducted to obtain a comprehensive understanding of sperm health, thereby enabling more informed and individualised treatment decisions.
  Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) 
In the procedure, viable sperm are implanted directly into the uterine cavity by a fertility specialist. This facilitates an increase in the number of motile sperm reaching the uterus, which subsequently increases the chances of conception.
  In-vitro Fertilisation (IVF) 
IVF can assist couples with obstructed fallopian tubes, endometriosis, male infertility, and inexplicable infertility. This procedure provides a solution when other methods fail. IVF is advantageous for women who have had multiple IUI failures, multiple pregnancy loss or those men with low sperm quality because it increases the likelihood of conception with viable embryos.
  Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) 
ICSI is particularly beneficial when treating severe cases of male infertility, such as low sperm count, poor sperm motility, and aberrant sperm morphology. In this procedure, viable sperm is directly injected into the oocytes, thereby circumventing natural reproductive barriers.
  Pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT) 
By selecting embryos with normal genetic profiles, PGT significantly increases the likelihood of a successful pregnancy and reduces the risk of miscarriage and implantation failure. PGT enhances the overall success rates of various assisted reproductive technologies, such as in vitro fertilisation (IVF) - intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
  Testicular Sperm Aspiration (TESA) 
TESA is useful in the treatment of male infertility, especially in cases of azoospermia in which there are no sperm present in the ejaculate. The minimally invasive method enables the direct extraction of viable sperm from the testicles.
  Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration (PESA) 
In this procedure, the specialist collects sperm directly from the epididymis, especially when the male companion is experiencing certain types of infertility.
  Magnetic Sperm Sorting (MACS) 
It is a technique used to sort healthy sperm from damaged or less viable ones. By enhancing sperm quality, MACS improves the odds of successful conception.
  Cryopreservation 
For women concerned about age-related fertility decline, preserving eggs at a younger age can allow them to use healthier eggs when they are ready to start a family, thereby increasing the likelihood of successful conception.
